Candidates for this role would be expected to possess the following experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years direct supervisory or management experience; extensive contacts within the NGO/education landscape will be an advantage.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with a track record of managing projects and delivering operational targets.
  • Professional demeanour, excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-reflective and open to frequent feedback from students and the leadership team.
  • Positive, solutions-orientated attitude, drive for excellence and ability to be a team player.
  • Entrepreneurial, creative, proactive mindset required of start-ups that takes ownership for targets and seeks opportunities for improvement / growth of the program without guidance.
  • Ability to work against firm deadlines to achieve the targets and objectives.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English & Chinese (Cantonese) is a must.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working with educational institutions, and/or has knowledge of current trends, issues and the players in the skills training landscape.

What you'll do:

JOB OVERVIEW

The Assistant Program Manager is a full-time role that will report directly to the Program Manager of Generation HK. The key responsibilities are:

Supporting Program Manager on Generation X CLAP Operations & Program Management: meeting operational targets for ongoing programs, being run in collaboration with local partners or by in house delivery team (Eg: Enrollment, Placement, On-job retention etc.)

  • Collaborate with external training partners / in house delivery staff (instructors / mentors) to ensure smooth functioning of end-to-end processes including learner recruitment, in-class training, jobs-matching & transition to employment, in accordance with pre-agreed program specifications
  • Ensure that the capability building deliverables for our training partners are met by way of coaching the partner staff in above referenced processes (coordinate training seminars for staff where required)
  • Learner Recruiting: manage recruitment & intake of learners as per pre-agreed screening criteria (could include pre-work, selection tests & interviews)
  • Training bootcamp support: Oversee the daily program operations during the training bootcamp; coordinate availability of instructors, training material and any additional support as and when required to ensure high-quality training delivery
  • Support training partners / Manage the in-house delivery staff in strategizing and executing ‘Placement’ activities for graduating learners, including industry outreach, jobs matching and learner preparation
  • Follow up with alumni and employers to collect ongoing feedback on their workplace performance (ROI) and use the insights to constantly recommend improvements to the operating model
  • Serve as primary point of contact for local partners and assist pro-actively in solving operational problems
  • Assist the training partners in facilitating post-placement support groups for Generation graduates
  • Maintain central database and conduct regular analysis to recommend improvements to the operating model
  • Ensure consistent communication with coalition (local partners, Generation regional and global teams), including drafting weekly coalition update emails and leading weekly calls

Supporting Partner Management: Collaborating with key institutional stake-holders for ongoing program evaluation and expectation management

  • Ensure consistent communication with all senior and junior stakeholders at the Funder and Training partners in order to manage ongoing expectation setting about program outcomes
  • Prepare and present regular dashboards customized for various stakeholders
  • Collect regular program feedback from all key stakeholders and recommend improvements
  • All other duties as assigned by the Senior Management Team

Cross-supporting Community and School

  • Build and maintain partnerships with community partners, NGOs and schools to expand the reach to potential student population, especially the NEET in the community and potential school drop-outs from network schools
  • Coordinate within the team to provide support for community partners, NGOs and schools as necessary
