Generation USA Program Quality Lead


Generation USA is rapidly growing and seeks an experienced program professional to ensure program quality and model fidelity across its currently operating sites. We’re looking for a leader who embodies our organization’s core values. More specifically, we’re seeking a teammate who is passionate about achieving our mission, has a strong ability to work with a geographically diverse team, a track record of effectively managing large-scale programs, is a strong collaborator and is committed to continuous improvement personally and for the organization. The ideal candidate will be capable of empowering the organization’s staff and ensuring that our programs effectively serve our two main stakeholder groups: our program participants and our employer partners.

You are a visionary, strategic and passionate leader energized at the thought of taking Generation into the next phase of growth. You love data and think in systems. You are passionate about program quality and have experience using data to drive program improvements.

Specific requirements include, but not limited to:

  • Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for Generation’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience with at least 4 years of direct leadership experience required
  • Experience leading teams in data use and analysis
  • Entrepreneurial, creative, innovative, proactive mindset required for start-ups that demands taking ownership of targets and seeking opportunities for improvement / growth
  • Positive, solutions and impact oriented attitude, drive for excellence
  • Experience of starting / running a skills training related organization and knowledge of the non-profit landscape is preferable and but not required
  • Professional demeanor, excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (English) and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel across Generation USA cities

What you'll do:

The Program Quality Lead will provide oversight and training to all US programs. The US Program Quality Lead will report to the Chief Operating Officer and directly manage a team of 3. S/he will provide support to program staff, ensuring high quality training for all new and incumbent staff members. S/he will oversee a team designed to ensure that program staff have standardized roles. S/he will be the data guru, ensuring that data is entered correctly, analyzed, and used for program improvement and quality control. As such, the Program Quality Lead will manage two primary functions:

1. Lead training and support for mentors, instructors, and all staff around data:

  • Creating and standardizing quality procedures, standards and specifications for program coordinators, mentors and instructors and documenting those standards.
  • Ensuring role requirements are clear and working with program leads to make sure they are met.
  • Creating and reviewing training materials with program leads, ensuring use of relevant quality tools and make sure other staff understand how to use tools and improve programs.
  • Overseeing the staff review process for support staff and ensuring high performing staff are recognized and low performing staff are given opportunities to improve.

2. Create a data-driven culture by:

  • Defining quality procedures and looking at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency in data collection and analysis.
  • Developing data trainings for staff and communicating the importance of data regularly
  • Working closely with the US Program Lead to analyze data and ensuring data is used for program improvement.
  • Working closely with the US Data Support Lead to maintain Generation databases and ensure databases support all data collection needs.

3. Manage communication by:

  • Reporting program outcomes to key stakeholders (e.g. US Leadership team, Program Managers, Development Director, Communications Manager, employer partners, etc.).
  • Translating data to into concrete plans and recommendations to improve program performance.
