Generation Mexico is seeking a Program Coordinator to drive the launch and growth of a new program in Mexico City that will recruit, train and place youth in life-changing careers as software developers. The Program Coordinator will oversee the entire process from recruitment, selection, program operations, mentorship, job placement, data collection and analysis, and building a local alumni network. The Coordinator will work closely in coordination with the rest of the Generation program team and will build strong relationships with our external partners who help us to deliver the program (e.g. academic institutions, youth organisations). This role reports to Generation México’s Deputy Director.

This role is based in Mexico City, working from home for the near future. You should have a quiet, private workspace with the ability to connect to reliable internet. Generation is a global organization, so you will need to be available for some calls outside of normal working hours. Generation México is not able to sponsor relocation or temporary work visas—all candidates must be Mexican nationals or permanent residents residing in Mexico City.

To be successful you'll need:

  • Fluent Spanish, advanced written and spoken English.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience, with at least 2 years experience leading programs that provide services to youth or adults , ideally in a non-profit, educational institution, or social enterprise.
    • Candidates with experience in organizations focused on education, adult training programs, or talent development will be especially competitive.
    • We are especially excited to see candidates with experience launching a social program or scaling up an existing one, including creating and adapting processes necessary to run the program
  •  Track record of success working towards firm deadlines to achieve the targets and objectives.
  • Self-reflective and open to frequent feedback from students, institutional partners, and team members.
  • Strong, mature relationship-building skills with diverse audiences

What you'll do:

Program Management (60%)

  • Planning and Project Management: Create and lead clear program launch work plans, considering activities, responsibilities, and key milestones. Engage external stakeholders in implementing program launch work plans. Ensure that all stakeholders are fully prepared for their role supporting program launch and ongoing operations.
  • Recruitment and Selection of Participants: Design and manage the recruitment and selection process for young people applying to the program to ensure that we meet the target number of high-quality participants.Deeply understand the software development role and important points about the role and the industry to effectively recruit and select participants. Market and advertise our programs to young people in our target groups to generate applications to our programs (e.g. info sessions, digital marketing campaigns, alumni referral process, rec’t partners). Provide ongoing assistance to candidates, monitor results, and propose actions throughout the enrollment process to ensure turnout on Day 1 of the program.
  • Mentorship and Student Support: Manage performance and professional development of the program’s mentors, who provide critical support to help participants navigate challenges during their training and job placement process. Evaluate additional social supports needed for participants and implement them.
  • Participant Job Placement: Communicate closely with partner employers and students to ensure each graduate is placed in a high-quality ITjob. Plan events and other activities with employers to highlight student profiles.
  • Alumni Support: Support the creation of and cultivation of an active, engaged Generation alumni network that gives back to the Generation community and supports our mission

Program Operations (30%)

  • Communications: Serve as the main point of contact for students and institutional partners that work with us to run the program. Support Generation team in all social media and direct communication efforts.
  • Operations: Manage the day-to-day logistical operations of the program (e.g. reserving rooms, distributing laptops, securing internet access)
  • Data Analysis: Conduct regular evaluations with program participants, employers and other delivery partners; act on feedback to ensure we are improving the quality of our processes and programs wherever possible . Work with delivery partners and participants to collect student data on time and completely, ensuring we have an accurate record of participants’ progress into the workforce.
  • Finance: Meticulously track program budgets and highlight any expected variances in spending from planned.

Program Growth (10%)

  • Market Analysis: Analyze the recruitment and selection funnel, understand the job market, and identify new institutional partners to target and expand recruitment efforts.
  • Business Development and Partnerships: Support the building and deepening of employer relationships – including meeting employers to understand the candidates’ performance and performing ROI analysis with student & employer data collected.
