WHO WE ARE
Generation is an independent non-profit founded in 2014 by McKinsey & Company to help bridge the education to employment gap – at speed and scale. We have trained and graduated 61,000+ people into careers across 16 countries with diverse social, economic and labour-market contexts. Our effort in Hong Kong covers 6 training programs in 3 future-oriented industries since 2018. Over 600 learners have been trained from around 40 cohorts. And the employment rate of our learners after graduation is close to 90%.

Everything we do is to support underserved individuals into life-changing careers. We believe our proven methodology can eventually serve millions of stakeholders including individuals and employers. We will never be perfect, and we always have more to learn. We use data, experience, and dialogue to grow and improve. Program Manager / Assistant Program Manager

JOB OVERVIEW
The Program Manager / Assistant Program Manager is a full-time role under Generation Hong Kong reporting to the Senior Program Manager. He / she will be responsible for leading the team for program operations and management of a youth-employment project. A two-year contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate. Permanent employment will be subject to mutual agreement between Generation Hong Kong and the individual after the contract ends.

To be successful you'll need:

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in NGO / education/business management/project management (extensive contacts within NGO / education / human resources landscape will be an advantage).
  • Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience.
  • Entrepreneurial, adaptive to changes, resilient and innovative mindset that takes ownership for targets, and seeks opportunities for improvement/growth of the program.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills with a track record of managing projects and delivering operational targets.
  • Professional demeanour, excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail.
  • Open-minded and open to frequent feedback from learners and the leadership team.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude, drive for excellence and ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to work against tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment to achieve the program targets and objectives.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English & Chinese (Cantonese) is a must.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with educational institutions, and/or has knowledge of current trends, issues, and the stakeholders in the skills training sector.
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Program Manager.
  • Immediate availability is preferred.

What you'll do:

  • Overall Project Management: be the key contact of all the trainee’s recruitment and engagement matters, supervise the day-to-day operations and delivery of the project to ensure the goals and objectives are achieved throughout the two-year As the leader of the program operations and management, provide project insights and recommendations based on feedback / data collected from trainees to strengthen the project’s operational model and adoption in the long-run.
  • Trainee Recruitment: lead the team to collaborate with marketing team to plan, develop and implement recruitment strategy of trainees, such as on-campus activities and other online / offline promotions; manage the end-to-end journey of traineeship application, selection (including screening, test and interview) and matching.
  • Traineeship Support:
    • Drive the organization of traineeship project briefing, capacity building, kick-off / graduation ceremony, industry forums and relevant events.
    • Oversees the team to manage any in-program enquiries from trainees through-out the traineeship
    • Support traineeship check-ins between convenors/employers and trainees to achievement project goals.
  • Research / Project Evaluation Support: partner with research and project partners to collect ongoing feedback and / or evaluation data of trainees for analysis; provide recommendations for enhancing and optimizing the overall project/operational model.
  • Publicity / Marketing Support: collaborate with project partners and cross-functional teams to identify success stories of convenors / employers. /trainees for publicity and marketing effort of the project.
  • Actively communicate with respective project partners, such as funder’s team, trainers, trainees, convenors, employer partners, external vendors and internal cross-functional teams, to provide regular updates on project outcomes and insights into the project.
  • Graduates Engagement: supervises the engagements with graduated trainees for building a community of the project in the long-run; leverage graduated trainees for future recruitment and publicity / marketing efforts of the project.
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned by the management.
