Yamama is the CEO of Generation UAE.
Yamama has over 15 years’ experience working on youth, employment and education matters in the MENA region. She co-founded SHABAB, an NGO focusing on youth employability and entrepreneurship, in Syria in 2005. Within 4 years, it had trained 100,000 young people with a network of 450 business volunteers. Yamama later joined Teach for All, a global network of organizations working on expanding access to quality education for all children, where she supported the organisation’s partners across MENA and South Asia in building partnerships with the public and private sectors.
Yamama has also consulted for Localized, a pioneering learning platform that connects university students in emerging markets with global professionals who share a common culture and heritage; and Common Purpose, a not-for-profit specialising in leadership development, where she launched a programme connecting emerging leaders from Europe and the Arab world to tackle youth unemployment.
Yamama began her career at Coutts, a private bank in the UK, managing a portfolio of high net worth international clients. She received her BA and MA from the University of Cambridge in Middle Eastern Studies.
Yamama lives in Dubai with her husband and two children.
