Position overview

The Placement Coordinator (Career Coach) is a full-time contract role and the primary responsibility of the Placement Coordinator (Career Coach) will be to oversee the placement process and the communication with all Generation Thailand learners and graduates from its programs in order to support them for a job placement. We are seeking a talented Placement Coordinator (Career Coach), with experience in career counseling, job coach, recruitment, and self-management. They will be passionate about working with communities facing significant barriers to employment and supporting adults to reach their full potential and help them move past barriers to employment.

As the Placement Coordinator (Career Coach), you will be responsible for matching our graduate hiring partners who are interested in hiring our program graduates and supporting our graduates through volunteering, events, and other initiatives.

You will be working under the supervision of Program Lead and in a close collaboration with the Business Development and Partnership Lead (BD&P Lead) to ensure all graduates are successfully placed with employers within 90 days of graduation.

This position is open for Thailand Citizens only.

  • Type of employment: Full-time employment position for 1-year (with possibility of extension, subject to funding).
  • Working Environment: This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand. Working arrangement is flexible (able to visit the office at least twice a week).
  • Start Date: As soon as possible.

To be successful you’ll need:

Candidates for this role would be expected to possess the following experience and qualifications:

  • At least 2 years experience in career counseling, job coach, recruitment, partnerships management, or other relevant fields. Tech or digital sector experience is highly desired.
  • Background in coaching or education with a diverse group of participants and needs that you know how to tailor your approach to maximize support for each person.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a positive spirit to engage, influence and motivate various stakeholders. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail are required.
  • High degree of independence and experience with self-management, ability to take ownership for targets and be proactive in delivering targets as well as taking initiatives and seeking opportunities for improvement of employment outcomes/growth of the program.
  • Ability to work well in a team. Self-reflective, open,  and comfortable to receiving and giving feedback to others and professional development.
  • Passionate about empowering communities and social impact. Experience working in a start-up and/or not-for-profit is desired, but not essential.
  • Fluency in English and Thai.

What you’ll do:

Ensure program delivery is aligned with our methodology and standard operating procedures across the recruitment, screening, training, and employment transition phases, including but not limited to following:

Bootcamp

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all the learners with queries on placement and ensure any essential employment-related documentation is complete and up-to-date for each learner.
  • Prepare students to attend employer-interaction events, eg. best practices on networking with employers and making a good first impression and communication.
  • Work with the Program Team to ensure connected support of learners, particularly in their employability development and placement goals.
  • Facilitate developmental 1:1 sessions, which individualize support to respond to the support needs and areas of opportunity of each learner, resulting in improved job readiness.
  • Working directly with hiring managers to understand the profiles and skill sets required for job vacancies, supporting their hiring process with Generation graduates, and collecting employer feedback on the performance of Generation graduates during the hiring process as well as on the job.
  • Providing shortlists to employer partners and supporting them during their hiring process.

Transition to Employment

  • Oversee learners’ transition to full-time employment by closely collaborating with the Employer Engagement Team and Program Team to fulfill recruitment opportunities in line with deadlines.
  • Manage placement activities, including coordination with employer partners for participating in, organizing the events, scheduling interviews, and collecting data on job placement.
  • Design and deliver events which connect graduates to employers.
  • Prepare graduates for employment post programs based on graduates’ needs and support them on the recruitment process following up the tailored placement solution. One-on-one coaching sessions or group sessions to provide targeted feedback on CVs and specific and constructive feedback on mock-up interviews, including learning resources are necessary.
  • Support to smooth the transition into employment for learners and prepare them for thriving in their new career by helping graduates settle into their new careers, providing targeted support and wellbeing check-ins during the first months of employment.
  • Log employment and job interview data for each graduate in the Salesforce system.
  • Lead and follow-ups with alumni for their monthly follow-up calls and that Salesforce is updated with new information mainly on the first 6 months after graduation.
  • Track all unplaced alumni and ensure that they are receiving relevant job opportunities through relevant platforms.
  • Maintain relationships with graduates and ensure they are engaging with post-program support activities.
  • Build the alumni community and engagement through various activities, including organizing the social events among alumni and Generation.

Program Coordination

  • Ensure consistent communication with the learners, the graduates, and the Senior Management to ensure effective coordination, timely updates, and an overall successful execution of the placement process of each Program.
  • Support in capacity-building and knowledge sharing of Generation’s placement-related works to partners.

Data and Digital Management

  • Ensure data is entered on time and is accurate and complete.
  • Ensure all learner and employer data is up to date and correctly reflected on the respective dashboards.
  • Validate all incoming data to ensure its accuracy, taking early steps to rectify inconsistencies in the data, and its applicability and visibility across various databases/systems.
  • Review graduate and employer partner feedback, use this feedback to design activities and support intervention.
