Brian Cheng is the Chief Executive Officer of Generation Hong Kong, which is a part of the global independent non-profit organization founded by McKinsey & Company. Since its launch in early 2018, Brian has been leading Generation Hong Kong which aims at transforming the education-to-employment system to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible, and to shape a future-ready talent ecosystem in Hong Kong.

Brian is passionate about supporting the education to employment space in other various capacities. Currently, Brian serves on the Council of The Hong Kong Productivity Council, the Board of The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, the Board of VolTra, the Committee on Self-financing Post-secondary Education by the Education Bureau, the Strategy Committee on Talent Development by HKCSS, and the Advisory Committee of Diploma of Applied Education. Brian has also supported various social innovation competitions as a judge, mentor and advisor.

Prior to joining Generation, Brian had been in the higher education sector over the past decade, leading the Asia operation of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the administrative functions of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology.

Brian holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as an Executive M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is the recipient of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Chicago Booth Executive MBA Program Scholarship, designed to support aspiring leaders in non-profit organizations and promote their development within the social service sector in Hong Kong. Additionally, Brian is awarded the Diversity Leadership Alumni Award in 2025 from The University of Chicago.
