AI Generalist Session – What do we offer?

The session provides self-paced online content designed to work into your busy schedule. You’ll select which practice opportunities are most supportive for your small business. Once complete, you’ll earn a digital certification that highlights your commitment to personal and professional growth.

The details:

• Flexible, Online Training: You complete the session at a pace and time that works for you. The session is composed of two units: a foundational unit followed by a menu of 8 authentic practice opportunities. You’ll choose which 4 (or more!) practice activities you want to complete based on how they match up with your business needs. Expect to commit less than 1 hour per week over 8 weeks.
• AI Fluency: AI-first thinking is woven throughout the session – not treated as a separate topic – so you build practical skills you’ll actually use on the job. Not yet familiar with AI at all? You’re in the right place. No prior knowledge needed.
• A Tailored Learning Experience, Free of Charge: No surprise fees, and no hidden sales pitch at the end. This session is provided free to small business owners and employees.

Who is this session for?

This session is for employees or owners of small businesses who have little to no experience with AI. The AI Generalist session is for people who may use generative AI (like Gemini, Claude, Chat GPT, and more) in limited ways – perhaps as a big, better search engine. It’s also for people who have yet to even start an AI journey. 

We’re looking for motivated learners who are ready to commit to the session and take an active role in their personal and professional growth.  You don’t need to have all the answers – that’s what we’re here for.

Specifically, we’re looking for people who:

• want more skills in their AI toolkit
• are self-starters who can thrive in a remote learning environment
• like to learn by doing and applying lessons to their authentic business needs

What skills will you learn?

We’ll help you learn both essential foundations and skills practice through hands-on, interactive activities across multiple sessions such as:

• Welcome to an AI-Enhanced Workplace
• Be More Productive With AI
• Preparing for Challenging Conversations
• Generate a Social Media Copy

AI fluency is embedded throughout each session – you will be introduced to AI-enabled tools to help you use AI strategically across many situations facing small business owners.

Learner Commitment

This session is designed to be flexible and manageable alongside your existing responsibilities.

The total learning time is approximately 6 hours, which you can complete at your own pace.

You’ll have 8 weeks from your start date to finish the session and meet the requirements for certification.
