Brian Cheng is the Chief Executive Officer of Generation Hong Kong since its launch in early 2018. In this role, Brian leads the implementation of the Generation programs in Hong Kong which aim at addressing the gap between education to employment, especially to tackle the talent mismatch caused by a deep-rooted societal norm that higher education is the only path to success alongside with the mismatch in criteria to assess candidates.
Prior to joining Generation, Brian had been in the higher education sector over the past decade, leading the Asia operations of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the administrative functions of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology respectively. Currently, Brian is also a member of the Advisory Committee on Gifted Education under The Education Bureau of Hong Kong, a mentor of Cyberport, and a member of the Honorary Advisory Committee of Enactus Hong Kong.
Brian holds a B.A. and a M.B.A. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Michael Houlihan joined Generation in July 2018 to lead the launch and growth of programmes in the UK & Ireland.
Prior to Generation, he was COO and Director of the Board at two award-winning, VC-backed technology start-ups, helping both Reevoo and Quill develop their proposition and scale. Prior to that, Michael worked as a Strategy Consultant with OC&C. Michael holds a BA in Economics & Mathematics from Edinburgh University, and an MA in Economics from New York University, completed as a St Andrew’s Society scholar.
Arunesh Kumar Singh is the Chief Executive Officer of Generation India. In a non-profit leadership career that spans more than two decades, his work has championed social issues in multiple sectors including Youth Employability, Public Health (Family Planning, Non-Communicable Diseases, MCH, Eye Care), WASH and Micro Finance.
As the CEO of Generation India, his focus has been to build a strong team, build sustainable program models, and forge long-term and sustainable partnerships with governments, corporates, training partners, and funders to scale the program in India.
Prior to joining Generation, Arunesh was Chief of Party of the USAID funded SHOPS Plus Project (Sustaining Healthcare Outcomes through the Private Sector) at Abt Associates — where he led multi-sectoral partnership initiatives to increase awareness and use of safe sexual & reproductive practices among Indian youth. In his previous role at Population Services International, he led WASH programs including a Bill & Meilnda Gates Foundation funded sanitation and fecal sludge management program.
He has extensive experience of working with various donor agencies, governments, and the corporate sector including multi-national foundations.
